Hi! I’m Miriam Montgomery, the Co-ordinator here at the SE Edinburgh Foodbank. I’ve been in post since June this year, and I’m loving every minute of it.
My job is to make sure the foodbank can keep running day-to-day, and I enjoy it hugely. It’s fascinating to get to know all the different people involved in the foodbank’s work, from our clients and volunteers to our very generous supporters. We have strong relationships with many of the local churches and supermarkets, and are also supported by lots of individuals – and even one street of neighbours!
The volunteer team are amazingly committed and highly experienced, and are always ready to offer the warmest of welcomes to our clients. It can be an incredibly hard thing to actually come into the foodbank and ask for help, and we work hard to help our clients feel at home and at ease.
